Durvar Festival

Emirates, traditional / indigenous in northern Nigeria political entities used horses for races.

The Durbar has become a festival held in honor of the visiting dignitaries.

The Durbar is performed in most major cities in northern Nigeria to mark two important Muslim festivals, Id-el Fitri, where the term Easter fasting and Ramadan and Eid-el Kabir commemorates .

Are truly magnificent and spectacular events, where horses and camels decorated, traditional songs, dances and parades in all colors shown.

Eyo Festival

It is unique in Lagos. Eyo festivals are held when the occasion and tradition demand it, but is usually performed as the final ceremony of funeral rites for a famous or well-known traditional chief.

Fishing Festival Argungu

 

The festival takes place in Argungu, a town in Kebbi State between February and March. During the festival, hundreds of local men and boys go inside equipped with long nets for fishing river.After the competitions, there are different types of entertainment, drinks, singing and dancing until the wee hours of the morning.

SHARO/SHADI
FESTIVAL

 

During the Sharo festival, contestants singles, escorted by beautiful girls, fervosos applause and sounds of trumpets, whips appear in fearful poses against their opponents. Opponents must whip including without showing any pain, otherwise the call cowards.

 
DANCE ATILOGWU
 

It is a magnificent art formed by the Igbos in Anambra State. Atilogwu is a vigorous dance which literally means "no magic in this?". It combines elements of gymnastics and acrobatics rhythms feet. Has become a signature held in the Nigerian culture, proudly carried around the world.

 

 

OSUN FESTIVAL

He prays in Yoruba land, particularly around the Osun River. It is believed that the waters of Osun contain properties fertility for women.

The most important sanctuary of the goddess Osun is Osobgbo, in stony castle, where the heads priests perform rites and rituals in his honor.
